Gay Marriage

Okay now that the conventions are all, I'm going to go through some hot topic issues and my opinions on them. I will provides facts as I can, but some of the stuff is just straight opinion.

Gay Marriage

I tend to aproach this issue from a different stance than most. I dont really care if you believe that homosexual's choose or are born liking those of the same sex, I want to look at what is best for the country. So here is a list of what Gay marriage will effect and what impact it will have

1. Economy
Study's have shown that married couples make more money, and also spend more money. Singles will spend more money on the service industry: restaurants, gyms, movies and rental property's. Married couples spend more on the big items:houses, cars, furniture and other long term items.

2. Children
By the nature of being homosexual natural reproduction is not the first choice. (The wording on this point is hard to come up) Marriage produces a stability that most humans crave to raise a child, and on the whole this is one of the sociological reasons we get married, to raise a family. With homosexual marriage more children who do not have a home will be adopted. Also and this is pure specualation on my part, homosexuals understand what it is to feel left out or left behind and will sympathize with children that are older will find homes. There are, according to some reports, 134,000 children in foster care that need to be adopted.

3. Money
Single's on average start saving for retirement around the age of 40, married couples start in the mid 20's. This means anyone that is married will be less of a drag on all govt. services including social security and medicare. 'Nuff said

4. Health
Married people are generally healthier than unmarried people, as measured by numerous health outcomes. This study that is linked shows everything much better than I can. The end product is health care is much cheaper for those of us married. One other effect std's and AIDS/HIV, although adultery does happen, the free love sex that people forget causes std's is much less common among married people.

5. Sympathy
How can anyone look at a couple who have been together for years, loving each other and say they cant have the same benifets that I do. Marriage is a right to live the rest of your life with one person, sharing in all of the fun that is life. Marriage is not a privelage to be given out by the govt.

I understand many have issue with the religious aspect of marriage but if that is your issue than take govt out of marriage. I say homosexual marriage has nothing but benifets for the country.
